Abstract

The National Scientific Conference titled “History in the Museum and the Museum in History” was held in Varna on 4 and 5 October 2019. The event was organised to mark the 60th anniversary of Varna Museum of the National Revival (‘Department of Bulgarian Lands in the 15th – 19th Century’ of the Varna Regional Museum of History). A book dedicated to the event was published two years later, in 2021. It features most of the reports presented at the conference. The collection is part (volume XIV) of the Acta Musei Varnaensis series by the Varna Regional Museum of History. It traditionally presents the results of various scientific events organised by the Varna Regional Museum of History, including forums, conferences, celebrations, etc. The author of this review begins with a brief presentation of how the conference was organised and held and then focuses on the contents of the collection. It focuses on all materials in turn, highlighting the authors’ main contributions and research.
